A quick and delicious homemade eggnog recipe that can be prepared in just 5 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup bourbon or rum (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs and sugar until well combined.
  2. Add the milk, heavy cream, vanilla extract, and ground nutmeg to the egg mixture and whisk until smooth.
  3. If desired, stir in the bourbon or rum.
  4. Chill the eggnog in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.
  5. Serve in glasses and sprinkle with additional nutmeg on top.

Notes

  • For a non-alcoholic version, simply omit the bourbon or rum.
  • Make sure to use fresh eggs for the best flavor.
