A quick and easy recipe for Sweet & Sour Chicken with Peppers that tastes better than takeout.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken breast, cubed
  • 1 cup bell peppers, sliced
  • 1/2 cup pineapple chunks
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, minced

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, vinegar, sugar, garlic, and ginger.
  2. In another bowl, toss chicken with cornstarch.
  3. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat and cook chicken until golden brown.
  4. Add bell peppers and pineapple to the pan and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes.
  5. Pour the sauce over the chicken and vegetables, and cook until thickened.
  6. Serve hot over rice or noodles.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes.
  • Can substitute chicken with tofu for a vegetarian option.
